The Studio of Restoration of Sculpture introduces students to the craft of restoring works of art executed in stone, plaster, stucco, terra cotta, wood and metal, including polychromed works. Instruction involves learning the specialised professional, artistic, technical and technological skills necessary for practicing art restoration within the context of the historical and contemporary level of knowledge.
Graduates of the master’s programme must be capable of understanding questions of art restoration within an interdisciplinary context, and to understand the meaning, logic, and methodologies of their chosen field. Graduates are able to work as fine artists, in various positions at cultural institutions, or as teachers at all levels of art schools. Graduates of the doctorate programme become specialised experts in their field.
